AOA Foundation debuts Optometry Cares Society

June 14, 2013

PrintOne of the greatest rewards is helping those who are most vulnerable in the community. Supporting Optometry Cares®– The AOA Foundation as a founding member of the Optometry Cares Society offers a new opportunity to help those in need.

A minimum pledge of $500 each year for three years makes donors founding members in this elite group.

All founding members will be invited to a recognition reception at Optometry’s Meeting® and will be included in special listings in Optometry Cares® – The AOA Foundation publications. They will also receive special mailings about critical vision health activities and invitations to seminars and screenings.

Optometry Cares Society founding members support these important foundation programs:

  • VISION USA and InfantSEE® programs, helping thousands of children and adults get access to comprehensive eye exams and vision care.
  • Optometry’s Fund for Disaster Relief, assisting many members of the optometry profession whose homes and practices are damaged by natural disasters.
  • Healthy Eyes Healthy People® community grants program, offering opportunities for optometrists to collaborate with other community resources so that vision services are provided and optometry is recognized as a vital part of the health care system.
  • Archives and Museum of Optometry, providing a repository of information and resources related to the history of the AOA and the profession of optometry.

For more information on becoming a founding member of the Optometry Cares Society, contact Dennis Holter at 314-983-4138 or DAHolter@ aoa.org.
