VISUAL clinical trials seeking patients for enrollment

June 1, 2012

Investigators are now enrolling patients into two VISUAL Clinical Trials, Phase III double-masked, placebo-controlled clinical trials evaluating the safety and efficacy of the investigational use of a biologic compound in patients with non-infectious intermediate, posterior, or pan-uveitis. The study drug is currently U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved in the United States for treating other immune-mediated diseases.

VISUAL I

VISUAL I tests the investigational medication in those who are taking high-dose corticosteroids for active non-infectious intermediate, posterior, or pan-uveitis.

VISUAL II

VISUAL II tests the investigational medication in those with inactive noninfectious, intermediate, posterior, or pan-uveitis who are dependent on corticosteroids to control disease flares.

Seeking Adult Patients for Clinical Trial Enrollment

Right now, U.S. investigators are seeking patient referrals. Patients may qualify if they:

  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Have been diagnosed with non-infectious intermediate, posterior, or pan-uveitis
  • Are taking oral prednisone (or equivalent corticosteroid)
  • Have best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) of a minimum of 20 letters in both eyes
  • Meet other inclusion and exclusion criteria

For more information on referring a patient, visit visualclinicaltrials.com or call 800-931-6190.
